Gold price list November 7: SJC "free-falls" 4 million VND per tael, the buying-selling margin soared to double the 2 million VND level yesterday

Domestic gold simultaneously decreased "unpredictably" following the negative developments of world gold prices. In the gold bar market, gold prices at businesses this morning recorded a decrease of up to 4 million VND, the buying and selling amplitude skyrocketed. Updated at 10:00 a.m. on November 7, gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh listed buying and selling transactions at 83.00 - 87.00 million VND/tael, buying decreased by 4 million VND per tael, selling decreased. 2 million VND compared to the end of yesterday. Doji Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh both decreased by 4 million VND/tael for buying and 2 million VND/tael for selling compared to the closing price of the previous session, trading down to 83.00 - 87.00 million VND/tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau recorded a decrease in buying price of 2 million VND and a decrease in selling price of 1.5 million VND/tael compared to yesterday's closing price, down to 85.00 - 87.50 million VND/tael. In Phu Quy , gold bar purchases decreased by 3.4 million VND, sales decreased by 2.5 million VND/tael compared to the closing date of November 6, trading is currently at 83.50 - 86.50 million VND/tael. At state-owned commercial banks, the selling price of gold bars is also falling sharply according to the general market. Specifically, Vietinbank and BIDV are currently listed at 87 million VND/tael, down 2 million VND compared to yesterday's session. With today's strong downward trend, gold businesses have taken strong actions in adjusting the difference between buying and selling. The buying price decreased more strongly than the selling price, the difference between buying and selling increased from 2 million VND yesterday to 4 million VND at present. The downward trend of domestic gold today is mainly influenced by developments in world gold prices. Closing the US session on July 6, world gold prices dropped more than 3% to 2,660 USD/ounce, when the USD increased sharply after Donald Trump's victory. Mr. Donald Trump was re-elected as US President by winning more than 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidential election. Investors believe that Mr. Trump's presidency will boost the dollar, causing the Fed to pause its easing cycle if inflation spikes after the expected imposition of new tariffs. “A clear presidential win as markets have priced in the controversial election results, removing an element of risk, trades follow,” said StoneX analyst Rhona O'Connell. Mr. Trump's victory caused the dollar to strengthen this morning and the combination of the two caused gold prices to fall.
