Updated at 9:30 a.m. on December 11, gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh listed buying and selling transactions at 84.6 - 87.1 million VND/tael, buying increased by 1 million VND, selling increased by 1.5 million VND compared to the end of yesterday. At Doji Hanoi , the buying and selling price of gold bars is currently at 84.6 - 87.1 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.5 million VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the closing session on December 10. Similarly, with an increase of 1.5 million VND in buying and selling prices compared to Tuesday's closing session, Doji Ho Chi Minh pushed trading up to 84.6 - 87.1 million VND/tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau recorded an increase of 1 million VND/tael for buying and 1.5 million VND/tael for selling compared to the previous session's closing price, to 84.6 - 87.1 million VND/tael. Phu Quy also achieved an increase in buying and selling of 1 million VND and 1.5 million VND/tael respectively compared to the previous session's close, to 84.6 - 87.1 million VND/tael. Joining the positive atmosphere, the selling price of gold bars at some state-owned commercial banks has also been adjusted up by 1.5 million VND compared to yesterday's closing session, to 87.1 million VND/tael. With a stronger increase on the selling side, SJC gold bars today expanded the buying - selling range to 2.5 million VND after falling to 2 million VND in yesterday's session. When gold prices suddenly increase or decrease sharply, gold businesses often widen the gap between buying and selling to limit risks due to rapid and unpredictable price changes. A large buying - selling margin helps ensure profits by compensating costs and reducing the risk of losses during the process of importing or selling gold. In addition, sudden buying and selling behavior of investors can cause supply-demand imbalance, and widening the margin allows businesses to control market pressure. After two consecutive upward sessions (December 10-11), gold bars bought and sold reached a total increase of 1.9 million VND/tael. Exceeding the mark of 87 million VND, gold bars are standing at the highest price range since November 8, 2024. The driving force for the current increase in domestic gold is the positivity of world gold prices. At the end of the US session on December 10, spot gold price increased more than 1% to 2,692 USD/ounce. The upward momentum continued to expand into this morning's session, gold price reached 2704 USD/ounce (at 9:30 am Vietnam time). Exceeding 2700 USD, the world gold price after conversion plus taxes and fees reached 84.54 million VND/tael, the difference with SJC gold bars increased by nearly 500,000 VND compared to yesterday morning's session, to 2.56 million VND.
